Dr. Charles (Retired in 2016) had practiced dentistry in the Sacramento area since 1975. He received his B.A. degree from Brigham Young University in 1967 and his D.D.S. in 1975 from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco where he served in Student Government as Class President and Editor of the school newspaper. I grew up around dentists most of my life. Two of my Uncles are dentists. Dr. Hugh Charles, who is my Mother’s Brother, encouraged my dental interests as I assisted him in the dental office at various time during my teenage years. While attending Brigham Young University I continued my dental pursuits by earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Zoology and a Minor in Spanish. I was fortunate to receive a Research Scholarship at the University of Iowa, where I studied and researched Temporomandibular Joint Disorders (TMD) and Third Molar Extractions (wisdom teeth extractions). Upon Graduation from Dental School in 1992, I was accepted into the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics General Practice Residency Program (Oral Surgery Fellowship). Here I gained much more extensive training in Dental Surgeries, Implants, Sedation, Orthodontics, and Medical Dentistry including head and neck trauma. When I finished the General Practice Residency Program in 1993, I moved to Sacramento area with my wife Lisa and two of our four children. I joined with my Uncle Dr. Hugh Charles and my Father Blair Moser Sr. as a part of the Charles Dental Group. It has been a wonderful relationship, and I have enjoyed serving the people of Sacramento for the last 20 years. I have seen families grow and now see the children of those families that have married and started their own families.
