Jose M. Mariscal, DDS is a Chicago native, having grown up in the Albany Park neighborhood. He graduated from Lane Technical High School and completed his Bachelors of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He continued his education at the UIC College of Dentistry earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree along with a Bachelors of Science in Dentistry. He also received an award from the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry in 2009 and is actively pursuing advanced education in the areas of cosmetic dentistry, endodontics, sleep apnea, TMJ disorders, orthodontics, and implant surgery. Dr. Mariscal is a firm believer in continuing education and was able to distinguish himself from other dentists by earning his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, which is an honor bestowed upon only 7% of dentists throughout the country. He is a Diplomate of both the American and International Dental Implant Associations, which are awards given to members who demonstrate the highest standards in implant dentistry through their extensive training and dedication to their profession. He is also a certified provider of Invisalign® and Clear Correct®. Dr. Mariscal enjoys training in the art of jiu jitsu, all styles of latin dance, traveling, and spending family time with his wife and 3 children. Dr. Mariscal is a member of the board for the Chicago Chapter of the Hispanic Dental Association and is fluent in English, Spanish, and basic conversational Italian. Carolina Boege, DMD was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil and graduated from the University of Sao Paulo (USP) in 2008. While at USP, Dr. Carolina worked as an assistant in a variety of clinics, including general dentistry, pediatrics, endodontics, prosthodontics, orthodontics and oral and maxillofacial. After graduating, Dr. Carolina decided to come to Chicago to pursue her career as a dentist in the US. In 2014, she joined the Advanced Standing DMD program at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and graduated with honors in 2016. Dr. Carolina was a recipient of the Alan C. Peterson scholarship and was nominated and chosen to be part of the OKU Honor Society. Dr. Carolina is a certified provider of Invisalign. On her free time, Dr. Carolina enjoys spending time with her family, CrossFit, fitness, and traveling. Dr. Carolina is very excited to join the In Smyle Dental team and can’t wait to start her new journey providing oral health education and improving the overall health of all her patients.
