There is no charge for the first appointment which consists of a complete evaluation, all necessary x-ray images, and the treatment plan.

Periodontics is the specialty in Dentistry that focuses on the teeth and supporting structures. Severe periodontitis was most prevalent among adults 65 years or older, Mexican Americans, non-Hispanic blacks, smokers and diabetics. The bacteria found in periodontal disease has been associated with heart attacks, strokes, and lung disease. Pregnant women with periodontitis are at greater risk for low birth weight babies and pre-mature births. Periodontal disease can be successfully treated and tooth loss in most cases is not inevitable. Dr. William C. Strutz Periodontist Read Bio

Dr. Strutz was born in Detroit, Michigan. He grew up in Leavenworth, Kansas. He graduated from Immaculata High School. He completed his undergraduate degree at Michigan State University with a B. S. in Zoology. He played midfield on Michigan State's lacrosse team. After graduation he served as a Naval Flight Officer flying the RA-5 C Vigilante, TA-4 Skyhawk, EA-3 Sky Warrior and other type aircraft. Dr. Strutz has retired from the US Navy Reserves with the rank of Lieutenant Commander. ...Read More Dr. Strutz graduated from the School of Dentistry at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and completed his training in Periodontics there as well. He has practiced in Shawnee, KS since graduation. He also served as an Assistant Professor of Dentistry at UMKC School of Dentistry. Dr. Strutz emphasizes the treatment of advanced periodontal disease and is dedicated to saving the teeth of his patients and restoring them to natural function. Dr. Strutz believes the patients are better served if they can save their teeth and be brought back to optimal health in longevity, and comfort. He believes that it is much more cost effective to save your teeth where possible than having them extracted and then have implants. He is married to Patricia Strutz and lives in Shawnee. He enjoys weight training, aerobics and circuit training for physical fitness. He is a self taught maker of leaded and stained glass windows, He is an avid home chef and photographer.
