Shu is originally from Taiwan. Where she received her BA in Library Science from Fu Jen University in Taipei. Shu went on to work as the Dean of Library at Won Nan Institute of Technology. In 1986 Shu immigrated to the United States with her family and in 1990 she received her Dental Assistant Certificate from Bryman Education Center in Brookline MA.
