Services we provide

Our Services YOUR CHILDS FIRST VISIT The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends parents and healthcare providers help every child establish a dental home by twelve months of age. Children who have a dental home are more likely to receive appropriate preventative and routine oral health care. Seeing a child by twelve months of age provides critical opportunities to educate parents and establish proper dental health practices which reduce a child’s risk of preventable dental disease. Help your child feel comfortable and learn what a check-up is like: Screen for developmental concerns that may impact their future bite Discuss proper home care and nutritional needs with the parent or caregiver Use age-appropriate methods to encourage proper self-care and oral hygiene Take “pictures” (x-rays) if the child is comfortable Make a plan for any necessary therapeutic needs Please have a legal parent or guardian accompany your child for their first visit. Any subsequent recall appointments (Exams and cleanings), a minor may come by themselves with prior notarized parental consent. BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT In pediatric dentistry, there’s a high level of psychology involved in the way we help our young patients during their care procedures. Through key language skills, voice control, protective stabilization, sedation options, and a tell-show-do approach, our team can help even the most behaviorally challenged or anxious child get through, and enjoy, their visit. PREVENTATIVE DENTISTRY Our top priority is to help your child keep his or her smile healthy, so that they need less treatment in the future, or ideally, so they can avoid dental problems altogether. We do this by offering age-appropriate therapies like: Comprehensive exams and orthodontic screenings Gentle cleanings and oral hygiene instruction Digital x-rays to assess tooth development Supplemental therapy, including fluoride treatments Protective dental sealants to block out decay Most children benefit from a cleaning and check-up every 6 months to keep their smile cavity-free. ORTHODONTICS Our orthodontist works closely with your child to provide early and effective orthodontic therapy to her patients. Assessing bite corrective needs early makes it easier for your child to enjoy a healthy smile when they grow up. Growth modification, space maintainers, and phase one (“early ortho”) braces are a great way to start. SEDATION No level of sedation is appropriate for everyone, including children. We offer a variety of sedative choices based on the physical, developmental, and behavioral needs of each child. There’s no need to take your little one to a hospital or surgery center for their necessary care. Thanks to our in-house IV sedation and nitrous oxide sedation, it’s possible to help your child enjoy a healthy smile regardless of how much treatment they need. TOOTH COLORED RESTORATIONS When a baby tooth has a cavity, it can spread very quickly causing pain, swelling and infections. Minimally invasive white fillings aren’t just cosmetically pleasing; they also prevent emergencies like abscessed teeth. Our team strives to address cavities in their earliest stages when they’re more comfortable to treat and before they can affect neighboring teeth. TONGUE TIE & LIP TIE (FRENECTOMY) Two of the most common problems in oral health care are tongue ties and lip ties, and our team does continued research on these issues. Tongue and lip ties contribute to behavioral conditions, developmental issues, speech impediments, sleeping disorders, and disrupting overall health and wellness. Ideally, these situations should be addressed at infancy, but regardless of the age they are addressed, Little Tooth Pediatric Dentistry utilizes the latest technology which includes laser therapy to alleviate tongue ties and lip ties through a painless, easy and effective procedure that takes a mere handful of minutes to complete. SPECIAL NEEDS DENTISTRY Special needs children can include those with physical or mental impairments that get in the way of receiving proper pediatric dental treatment. Some patients are especially susceptible to tooth decay or gum disease. Others may have to take medications or follow diets that can cause dental problems. Our team has received additional training to deal with all of these situations and to arrive at solutions that accommodate the child while providing good dental health., please click here.
