No matter what I go in for, whether for a filling or a crown, I can relax and not worry about experiencing any pain or discomfort and know the procedure will be done with expert competence.For fifteen years, I had Sally, the absolute best dental hygienist I’ve ever had. We became such good friends over the years, reminiscing about our Adirondack hiking and paddling adventures. I was always amazed how she could understand anything I said with a mouthful of dental instruments. Sadly, not long ago, Sally retired. She is missed.Modern dental technology evolves like every other technology, and things are a bit different these days in the dentist’s chair. Now instead of the hygienist just using a manual hand scalar to clean and scale teeth, as Sally did, they now also use ultrasonic scalers to clean the plaque and tartar off teeth. Today’s appointment was for a cleaning with dental hygienist Valerie, who I think is relatively new at SBD. I’d heard some people’s teeth are sensitive to an ultrasonic scaler, so I was somewhat apprehensive about the procedure. Valerie put my mind at ease and the whole cleaning session went smoothly and painlessly. I have an annoying tendency to ask doctors and dentists a lot of questions, but Valerie very patiently answered all my questions. She also did an extremely careful and thorough job with the whole cleaning session. I have nothing but high praise for Valerie, what a great addition to the SBD family!
