Rebecca is our business manager—a Jill of all trades! She works together with patients and specialists to coordinate care and ensure each patient’s needs are specifically met with the highest level of attention. Cheryl is our insurance and patient care coordinator. She offers valuable insight into the specifics of each patient’s insurance policy to ensure each one maximizes what he or she is paying for. Dr. Bowman-Hensley attended A-B Tech for Associate of Arts and the Registered Dental Hygiene program, UNCA for multiple undergraduate studies, and WCU for a bachelor in Chemistry. She worked as a registered dental hygienist in high-quality local practices for 13 years, studying under the finest dentists in Asheville and Black Mountain. Dr. Bowman-Hensley was encouraged to go on to dental school and continued to work as a hygienist as well as holding several other odd jobs to put herself through ...Read Moreschool. She was accepted on her first attempt at the University of Kentucky where she completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2000. Once Dr. Bowman-Hensley graduated from dental school, she served in public health work for two years before opening her own practice in 2002 with the support of her mentor dentists. In addition to her professional pursuits, Dr. Bowman-Hensley served as an adjunct professor at A-B Tech, where she taught both clinical assisting and hygiene. She also served on the ABTC Advisory Board, the Buncombe County Board of Health, and for numerous years on the North Carolina Academy of General Dentistry’s (NCAGD) Board of Directors. She currently serves in the House of Delegates and maintains active membership in the North Carolina Dental Society, Buncombe County Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Bowman-Hensley held all officer positions with the North Carolina Academy of General Dentistry including President. She also volunteered at numerous clinics for underserved individuals and accomplished several special projects. Dr. Bowman-Hensley served for many years with the North Carolina Academy of General Dentistry as the Legislative Chair, held a presidency there, and was a meeting chair for five years. She and her husband actively support local rescue shelters, veterans groups, her church, Eblen Charter, and other community-related charities. Read Less
