Born in Alberta, Canada Dr. Tiwana completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Biological Sciences in 1996 at the University of Alberta, in Edmonton, Alberta. She graduated from Northwestern University School of Dentistry in Chicago, Illinois in 2000. After dental school she pursued a one year General Practice Residency at the Denver Health Medical Center, in Denver, Colorado. She is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. From 2001-2014 Dr. Tiwana was a full-time faculty...Read More member and Clinical Assistant Professor at UNC Chapel Hill, School of Dentistry. During her time on the faculty she was Director of the Urgent Care Clinic. Additionally, she was a Clinic Director and mentor for third year dental students, for her efforts in this role she received a teaching award in 2014. She was Director of the General Dentistry Group in the UNC Dental Faculty Practice. She also taught the dental students a didactic course in Oral Diagnosis. She has a particular interest in treatment planning, oral medicine and esthetic dentistry. She has published in the Journal of the American Dental Association and the Journal of Dental Education, as well as given presentations at the national and local levels. Dr. Tiwana has also worked with the North Carolina Smiles Program, providing dental care for school children around the state. She has participated in many North Carolina Mission of Mercy clinics, and other community dental outreach projects. Dr. Tiwana is married, she and her husband Navi have a spoiled Maltipoo named Scout. Outside the office she enjoys travel, reading, winter sports, and spending time with family and friends. Traci has been in dentistry for 22 years as an office manager and regional manager. She was born and raised in Colorado and has been married for 34 years to her best friend and high school sweetheart. She lived in Charlotte NC for the last 25 years, and recently moved to the triangle area to be closer to her 3 grown children and 2 grandsons. Traci enjoys family time, church, reading, baking, running, and swimming. She is excited to be a part of this great team and new community!
