Dr. Blalock grew up in Independence, Missouri. In 1981, she graduated from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She went on to the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry and fulfilled her childhood ambition of becoming a dentist. After eight successful years, she...Read More resigned her Naval commission and began a private dental practice. Since that time, she has furthered her dental education. Dr. Blalock has attended courses at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, at the Dick Barnes Group/Arrowhead Dental in Salt Lake City, Utah, 3D Dentists in Raleigh, NC, Implant mini-residency, and completed more than three times the amount of continuing education hours required by the state of South Carolina. She became the first dentist in SC to be certified in providing the DNA Appliance to her patients. She is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, International Academy of Sleep, Dental Sleep Masters, and a Diplomate to the Board of the American Sleep and Breathing Academy. Dr. Blalock is offering this very important service to her patients with snoring and sleep apnea problems. Her practice has an emphasis on family, cosmetic and neuro-muscular dentistry, and dental sleep medicine with health and wellness as her goal. Dr. Blalock is married to a Charleston native, and has an 20 year old son, two yellow Labrador Retrievers, and an apricot Australian Labradoodle. Dr. Kent is an endodontist recently relocated from Westchster, NY, where she was voted “Top Dentist” by her peers in the Westchester Magazine. She brings with her 14 years of endodontic experience as well as a global dental microscope allowing for magnification, to locate canals as well as allow for smaller access openings. Dr. Kent attended New York University College of Dentistry, receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1999. She currently resides in Mount Pleasant with her husband, 2 daughters, her chocolate lab and 3 cats. She is loving all that Mount Pleasant has to offer including tennis, golf, fishing, wonderful beaches and the lovely friends and neighbors that she has met here.
