Dr. Marc Scoles received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1970 from Upsala College, in East Orange, NJ. He attended The New Jersey College of Medicine and Dentistry, School of Dental Medicine, receiving his degree as Doctor of Dental Medicine in 1974. Dr. Scoles postgraduate training included a year as General Practice Resident at Jersey Shore Medical Center, in Neptune, NJ and continues with an ongoing and regular commitment to formal continuing education. He is also affiliated with the University of Connecticut School Of Dental Medicine as a member of the Department of Behavioral Sciences, participating in the Mentor Program and the seminar program, Critical Thinking in Dentistry. Dr. Scoles is a member of the American Dental Association, the Connecticut State Dental Association, the Hartford Dental Society and the Academy of General Dentistry. In 2009, Dr. Scoles became a member of the International Dental Honor Society, the Pierre Fauchard Academy. In 1975, Dr. Scoles established a general practice and in 1980, combined practices with Dr. Gary Garwood to form Glastonbury Dental Associates. Dr. Scoles has lived with his family in Glastonbury for over thirty- five years. During that time he has volunteered his time to Boy Scout Troop 34 as well as serving as a little league and soccer coach. Dr. Susat received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Niagara University in Niagara Falls, NY in 1975. He spent a year in graduate study and as a Teaching Assistant in The University of Connecticut at Storrs Chemistry Department . During his career he has continued his dental education by regularly attending formal continuing education courses. In 1999 after completing the education requirements and passing a written examination, Dr Susat was awarded a Fellowship in The Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Susat is a member of the American Dental Association, the Connecticut State Dental Association, the Hartford Dental Society and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Susat has lived in Glastonbury with his family for over twenty-three years. He is a member of St. Paul Church and has served as President of the Parish Council and President of the St. Paul Men’s Club. He has volunteered as a coach for the Glastonbury Little League, Hartwell Soccer, Hartwell Travel Soccer and Renegades Basketball. Dr. Matthew Scoles received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia in 2000. He then spent a year working for the Henry M. Jackson Foundation in Rockville, MD performing scientific research on potential HIV vaccines. Dr. Scoles then attended the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine in Farmington, CT and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine in 2005. As a pre-doctoral student, Dr. Scoles served as a preceptor and tutor for first year medical and dental students in the head and neck anatomy laboratories. He also, along with four of his classmates, organized a dental mission trip to Independence, Belize to provide oral hygiene instruction, sealants, and tooth extractions for the town’s residents. At his graduation he received the American College of Prosthodontics Award, The American Academy of Implant Dentistry Award, and awards in oral radiology, oral diagnosis, and community service. Dr. Scoles was proud to return to his hometown and join Glastonbury Dental in 2006. He currently is an attending in the department of dentistry at Hartford Hospital with a teaching assignment and currently serves as a board member of Friends of Glastonbury Youth.
