Such a wonderfull place!! The doctor is so nice and helpfull. I have never seen my teeth this clean all doctors usually leave something out but with him it was so clean!! Thankyou!

I realize this is a long review but if you are looking for a new dentist in Salt Lake City or if you have had problems with dentists in the past, you will want to read it carefully, I promise. About 12 months ago, I saw a really cheap dental cleaning on Groupon so I bought it and I went to this dentist in Midvale to get my cleaning. The hygienist was nice enough and did a good job on the cleaning. When the doctor arrived he looked at my x-rays and told me that I had a very large white filling on...read more one of my back molars and that the filling was starting to break down. He explained that because the filling was so large there was not enough of my tooth left to try and fix the filling and that a crown was my only option. I asked how much it would cost and he said it was roughly $900 and that we should schedule it now. The dentist and the hygienist were very forceful and pushy about me getting this crown and when I told them I did not have the money to let them do the crown right then and there, they literally would not let me leave the office until I picked a day to schedule the appointment. It was explained to me that it was absolutely necessary and that I should NOT wait even a week to do the procedure.Normally, when a medical professional offers you such stern "advice", you accept it as fact. However, I was extremely skeptical because 3 girls from my office and 2 friends of mine purchased the same Groupon and miraculously all 5 of us needed different procedures and my $900 crown was the cheapest recommendation. After talking to my coworkers and my two friends, they all felt the same "now, now, now" pressure. One of my friends was so scared by what the dentist said that he agreed to their recommendations and ended up spending well over a $1000 (and he has dental insurance)! Fast forward 6 months and another Groupon was available from iSmile for a cheap cleaning. I was VERY skeptical to buy it because of my horrible experience with the other dentist but I always keep my 6 month check-up appointments and I did not want to miss it just because of a bad experience. So me, and all of the girls in my office, bought this Groupon together. I was the last one to use it and I went to Dr. Torgeson at Murray Family Dental/iSmile Murray this morning. The experience was NIGHT AND DAY different. Annie, the hygienist was not just okay, she was AMAZING. She was so fun, friendly and she did a really good job. Then the dentist came in, looked at everything and told me that I have a tooth that could use a crown eventually. I asked if it was something more or less optional that he was recommending or necessary right now. He explained that it was certainly much closer to optional than necessary right not and then went through the details of what the problem was and why he was saying what he was saying - in plain English. And the last thing he said to me before he walked put was IF I wanted to schedule the appointment to do the crown, the office manager at the front desk would be happy to help me otherwise they would see me in 6 months for my next cleaning. I plan to stick with Dr. Torgeson. It was a great feeling to find a dentist that is honest, upfront and personable. read less

Wonderful staff! Only a few staff, they are all really nice and personable. Very professional and good at what they do. Made sure I was comfortable and worked with me on payments. I couldn't be happier with the work they have done! Would absolutely recommend them.
